A common annoyance in the wine world is the presence of fruit flies. These tiny insects are attracted to the sugar and yeasts in wine, and can often be seen hovering around the surface of the wine or crawling on the glass. They are not only a nuisance, they actually contaminate the wine with bacteria.
There are a few ways to address the fruit fly problem in the room such as using a fruit fly trap, or pouring a layer of olive oil on the surface of the wine, however if you would like to drink your wine we recommend using a wine glass cover between sips. All wine glass covers are different. Most are not properly constructed to allow your wine to breathe. The patented WineGuard screen was specifically made for this purpose. It allows air to flow into the wine glass to aerate it properly.
